Role Overview
We are seeking a Founding Solutions (Sales) Engineer to play a critical role in AIRIA's go-to-market motion. This role sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, and customer delivery, partnering closely with Account Executives to design, demonstrate, and implement AIRIA's technical solutions.
The ideal candidate is deeply technical, customer-facing, and comfortable owning complex pre- and post-sales engagements. You will serve as a trusted advisor to customer IT and engineering teams, translating business needs into scalable technical solutions while helping close high-impact enterprise deals.
This is a founding-level role with significant influence on product direction, customer success, and sales strategy.
 
Key Responsibilities
 
  • Partner with Account Executives throughout the full sales cycle, from discovery through close and deployment
  • Lead technical discovery sessions with customer IT, networking, and facilities teams
  • Design and present technical solutions, demos, and proofs of concept tailored to customer environments
  • Own solution architecture for Wi-Fi and networking-based deployments
  • Act as the primary technical point of contact for customers during onboarding and implementation
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Product and Engineering to relay customer requirements and feedback
  • Manage technical project timelines, risks, and deliverables to ensure successful deployments
  • Support documentation, implementation best practices, and technical enablement materials
Qualifications
 
  • 3+ years of experience in a Sales Engineer, Solutions Engineer, or similar customer-facing technical role
  • Strong background in Wi-Fi, networking, or enterprise infrastructure solutions
  • Experience working with or coming from companies such as Cisco, Hewlett Packard, Juniper Mist, or similar
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python and/or C#
  • Experience working directly with customer IT and engineering teams
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple technical workstreams
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, early-stage startup environment
Nice to Have
  • Experience with mapping, GIS, or spatial data systems
  • Familiarity with PostgreSQL, PostGIS, or geospatial databases
  • Background supporting SaaS or AI-driven platforms
Location & Work Model
  • Based in NYC
  • Hybrid schedule: 2-4 days per week in-office
Compensation
  • Base Salary: ~$150,000
  • On-Target Earnings (OTE): ~$220,000
  • Competitive equity package
